Practice Long Vowel Sounds
Use these books to practice words with long vowel sounds. Often long vowels are spelled with 2 or more letters right next to each other. Some teachers call these vowel teams or vowel digraphs.
Example Words: rain, tray, feet, boat, meat, show
Roll & Read: use these word lists to practice reading words with your child. You can have them roll a dice and then read one word or all the words under the number they roll. You can also play together and take turns rolling and reading words. This is also a great time to ask them questions about what the words mean and teach them new words. You can find an electronic dice roller by scrolling down to the bottom of this page.
